Re: Prices for NAs?
It's supply and demand. When I bought my first MX-5 in 2009, there were about 120 NAs listed on carsales.com.au and I bought one at the cheap end for $6900. Most were around $8k. Eight years later there are currently only 17 listed and prices are going up. An immaculate fully restored NA8 recently sold for about $26k! The really cheap ones don't appear on carsales because gumtree and ebay are cheaper options for the seller. Plus, demand is being pushed up because early NAs are eligible for club rego in Victoria (25 years). Not sure but I believe this option is not available in Tasmania until 30 years (2019), same as NSW and ACT.

well mine was 4k with a hardtop no rego. 177k but a good crank wobble, hail damage. at the start of the year. has a bunch of parts too. I thought it was an ok deal. but plenty of dreamers out there asking big bucks.

Re: Prices for NAs?
As my SE is pretty much where I want it now, I'd been thinking for a while about a new "Mexie" type project NA6 or NA8 to pass the time, but the asking and even "expected" prices by most sellers I've contacted has completely killed that idea!
