Agreed, cheapest option and if it doesn't work, nothing lost

I had to do this 10-12 months ago after water got in the ecu. Amazingly (I thought so anyway), it worked and I've had no dramas since

It appears it was bad fuel, which caused the car to back fire which stuffed the air flow meter. Mechanic also found rust and sh*t in the fuel tank and filters. Fuel tank cleaned ,new air flow meter, new fuel filter and new fuel pump filter and know she is running like a dream.
