Draging up an old post! I was younger when it was created.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Wow - ten years on and it's certainly interesting to read these comments, many of which relate to the Club and are still applicable.
I wonder how many of the contributors from 2009 are still active in this forum... :?:

I just read through this thread and it was like 'Memory Lane" - it is such a shame that so many great Forum Members are no longer here.
Makes me wonder if they sold their cars or just lost interest. There used to be a lot more 'traffic' on the Forum than there is these days.
I'm 68 next year and Dog-willing, I intend to be on the Forum a lot longer and driving 'Crystal' for a while yet.
Nobody to drive with most of the time but she gets a weekly workout regardless.

Still here. Got my na6 in 2007 and can't imagine ever selling. Not a frequent poster but check-in most days. Going for the big six-oh next year.

There will be a definitive answer which I don't have. I can guess that forums might just be old fashioned like blackboards and chalk I remember the latter very well - teachers who wore black cloaks and you called sir and who wrote on the board with chalk and threw dusters at you. We in turn dipped pens into ink wells and used blotter to try and keep the handwriting legible. Facebook seems to be everywhere though not taken up very much by older men- the ladies like it for family reasons. Is a forum now equivalent to points and coils and drum brakes? is the Age of forums gone or going- perhaps I should look that up on Google.....

You're right. Forums are a bit old school nowadays compared to the instant gratification of FBook, Insta, etc, etc.

OMG Mr Morlock I actually remember using ink wells and blotters in Junior school in England learning to write!! Damn I'm old!!

This thread is fascinating! There's certainly a lot less traffic on this forum during my years here which is a shame really. But since the release of the ND I've noticed a change in the general ownership of MX-5's where many aren't the enthusiast type like most on here. Wave in passing and they look at you like you're an alien!

Facebook big deal. Forums are the real repository of useful info. FB is flash in the pan stuff. Each have their uses.

One of those age groups in the Poll is wrong. Not on purpose mind you, but I did lie, by mistake really , maybe couldn't help it. But that age group that's closest to death should have one more in it. Me. :frown: Please adjust accordingly.
