Not sure about 13 year model NC. I know some NC models come with 2 CAT converters, one at the header exhaust manifold and one at the mid pipe. By changing to an aftermarket header, it will remove that unnecessary CAT 1 and increase a lot more torque I heard from a club member.

Also, check some NC garage chats here (Garage Chat in the main index section). They have done a lot of work to NC and you can see their results there. I think something else could be a lower diff ratio to 4.1. This will have more torque multiplier and make you rev better, especially the latest NC has higher REV limited at 7.5k vs 7k of older NC. Interested to know if the cabin induction works well on the later NC, does it sound nice?

Finally I think a set of racing beat sway bars and lowered springs, you will be really sweet and maybe adding a set of KUHMO KU36 semi slick tyres. US forum reported the factory Bilstein shocks really good, don't waste them going to coil over on such new car.

I would not change air filter or box on NC. They have good cold air duct in the front of car already and paper filter does not pollute the hot wire MAF

2.0 duratec engines can produce over 600whp (heavily built).

as usual the engine is not the problem but all the other bits after it - gear box, prop shaft, diff, drive shafts etc.

but in a pretty stock form 300hp is not too hard.

I think supercharge is better than turbocharge on NC since the car is new and in good condition. And yes I am sure there will be performance gain but when you mean improve. What is your goal? How much horsepower do you want to have at the end? Check out Flyin miata. You will be able to find all the info you need. You might also contact them, they are amazing, they answered all of my questions for my car.

Power dosent rip chassis in half around corners it's the weight of a bus engine with out reinforcing.

Turbo charging an NC is hard due to space restrictions we have in Australia with RHD. Supercharging is easier and more proven route.

You don't need to worry about shoehorning an over sized engine into your car, a modest rotary conversion should achieve the results you're looking for.

Perhaps you could just mimic the modifications they're doing to an NC at Automotive+ and add a bit more if it's not enough for you.....

If you are serious about going fast (0 to 100 kph) buy a bike or a V8 taxi but if you want to be quick, move away from you current circle of influence and put some time into the MX before you do anything else.

There are plenty of turbo NC's with great results, just none in australia because everyone is scared of FI NC's because of bad stories from the past and you cant get an off the shelf manifold, you need someone like me to make you one.

Ive had a few almost commitments, a turbo one would have been done a year ago for certain if it werent for the owner getting posted halfway across the country.

And I would expect 0-100's in the 3's not 5's.
