new Yoko A050 R spec track tyres

I went to get a new set of R888s from Andrew at Trackside and he suggested the new yoko A050, reckoning about 1 sec lap quicker than A048s.

I orig went for R888s cos $200 per set cheaper, and found them better for my usage (4 lap sprints, 1000kg, 90rwkw car) than the A048s (which were quick for the first cycle, but got slower and slower as cycles went, such that I ended up with 3 meeting old tyres with heaps of tread and no grip.. :x )

Now that R888s have gone up to almost the same price as the A048s and the AO50s arent much dearer, was wondering if anyone had used the AO50s so as to get a real world experience of what they're like.

Whats the actual price you were quoted? I like the look of them myself. This is the spiel from the Yokie website... "It’s designed to heat up quickly, with a soft compound, and is designed for Time Attack, Supersprint, Lap Dash, Gymkhana and Hillclimb events".
MX5 Wanted. SE or NC (forced induction preferred  )

AO50's are a miles better thing than the disasterous AO48's were. If money is no object then Dunlop 03G's are the go, just choose your compound wisely. We got our first set of 50's through the door thursday last week, whacked them on a car for some testing 245/40R18 in an R (they dont have H's which is a shame as we might have used them at the next 12hr if they did) comp, and they seemed to be a bloody good thing. Came up to temp very quickly and didnt go off for a long stretch, longer than bridgestones RE55S. Not sure if they will be on par with the Dunlops as we'd need to test them side by side and we didnt have the ability to just do tyre testing unfortunately.
Money can't buy Talent, but it can buy Horsepower and sometimes that's enough
