I was just mooching around various car / motorsport websites and found this Australian company selling these:

http://www.hyperracer.com/index.html

I must say that looks a bit fun!!

Looks like a lot of fun.

$30k worth of fun? I dunno :? It looks like Aussie Race Cars all over again, and that seems to full of bickering and allegations. I hope that they have refined the formula sufficiently to eliminate that sort of problem, as there is a place for these sort of racecars.

Meanwhile, I will sit back and watch how it develops.

Although, I see they are offering test sessions ...

Watch out for that website - my computer started playing up after I had visited a number of pages there, telling me I had a virus - only it was not my security software telling me. It may have just been coincidence, but then again ...

I have passed a message on to them, so if there is something maybe they will find it. In any event, make sure your firewalls etc are up to date before you go there.

As far as I could see they do not have a series up and running yet do they?

I love the ease of use of the thing, it fits in a regular 4x6 trailer and nothing is adjustable so you don't have to spend hours fiddling with the thing to get it driving straight and I love the cheap tyres and brakes....but $30K....hmmm...It needs a 1000cc engine and a higher top speed and a bit of downforce.

Cheers for the warning.

Yep, I was drooling over it at the Sydney Motor Show in October.

Just got an email about the test days. Two people only per day (limited by available cars?), $1000/head at Winton, $1500/head Wakefield, PLUS $2000 cash deposit for damage, refunded on the day if no damage.   You do get $500 back if you order one .... but no Winton or Wakefield test days scheduled, and from the sound of it they are busy building cars and would prefer you to drive a mate's car ...

I have told them thanks, but no thanks.

When you get yours Guran, I will bludge a drive
