Hi
I've seen a few people put seats from a Toyota 86 in an NB. Any one know if this changes the seat height?

Re: Seats from an 86/Brz
News to me!
What is involved, the NA/NB floor width is relatively narrow and that creates problems and limits options. The tunnel can be 'massaged' or cut to widen it, but shoulder width is less malleable.
Any photos/links for this swap? And why would you do it, are those seats particularly desirable? If you are looking for height from the cushion to the roof, there are other options, ranging from the mild (foamectomy) to the wild (drop the seat pan).

I can only expect they'll raise the seating position. The seat rails make it very hard to get lower in the NA and NB.
The only real way to lower the seating position is to have less material between your but and the rails (foamectomy, or thin foamed seat like the Lotus Elise seats), or remove the rails altogether.

Yes, they are bigger in every dimension. They sit taller, can't go back as far, and you have to 'massage' the tunnel to get them to fit. And you need to make custom brackets or rails.
What are you looking for in new seats? Because there's not a lot of options for the NA/NB.

Race seats are not really that comfortable, the 86 walk the line of being a bit more supportive yet more comfortable, and are cheaper than most options lol. At the end of the day if they sit taller then it's not an option
Thanks everyone for the feedback
