cooling system cleaning

Postby Astroboysoup » Wed Aug 23, 2006 11:52 am

Hey guys

long time no serious post!!!

anyway, Im in the process of fixing up my cooling system on my car. I've just had the end tanks replaced on my radiator. (couldn't justify buying a PWR replacement). Total cost $140. So I'm happy with that.

Bought myself a new thermostat and now I want to clean out all the brown sludge build up in the cooling system.

How do I get rid of it all.??????

Plus, with the radiator hoses, is it worth upgrading to a stronger thicker silicon hose thing?

Anything else worth changing upgrading to increase cooling performance/efficientcy.

I'm not changing the water pump. might clean it though

Take out the radiator if it is not out already.
Use a hose to pump water through the engine from the thermostat housing end.
Choice of hose type is up to you.
