Removing the airfilter off a SE airbox

Postby blackster » Fri Aug 25, 2006 4:28 pm

Would any SE owner kindly share how they remove the airfilter out of the stock air box. Its not as straight foward as the N/A NB box. Feel free to edit the photo with arrows for easier explanation

thanks

You need to get access to all the clips, one on each corner, you need to be contorted and what not.

Try removing the little snorkel too.

The clips come off no problems which allows you to lift the top of the air box by about 2-3 cms, its that hose above to the left of o2 sensor as well as the hose going into the airbox that stops the top of the air box from fully being lifted.

Are you saying by removing the snorkel, you can get the filter out, or are you saying to remove it to get more induction noise/better flow?

What a horrible intake. It's easily as bad as the older NA. No wonder SP Motorsports recommends it's removal.
