WTB engine gasket kit

Postby GR124 » Tue May 12, 2020 9:33 pm

I'm looking for a genuine full engine gasket kit suit 99-00. part number 8DN310271. I bought one from Amayama online but they just refunded my money, "non in stock". $438 including shipping I thought was pretty good.
The usa aint looking good with our dollar ATM

Any leads?

Have you tried Mazda Au or the UK source based in Portsmouth. Non genuine- Bursons would be an easy port of call.

to answer your question no. I will give Mazda Aus a call today. However I've just sent an email to MiataRoadster in the US asked if their advertised kit is genuine Mazda.

MX5parts UK have genuine Mazda ones, but like the US dollar, the pound costs a lot too. Might still be cheaper than Mazda Aus.

Have you done some mods to the NB8A engine in the beautiful Clubman? (I scrutineered it at Ringwood H/C on it's first outing)
Cheers

Ah cool I do remember you. Thanks for your response. Buying up bits for more power. Need to keep up with the F20c Honda boys around the track. I can't do that if it's NA

Personally I preferred the Victor Reinz sets from mx5parts.co.uk over the genuine Mazda sets, except for the crank seals where the OEM ones are unbeatable. Definitely better head and manifold gaskets from Reinz.

Have you tried MX-5 Mania or Automotive Plus? They're local, experienced, have an online shops and do all sorts of projects. If it's not on their stores you could call/email/FaceBook them. I've found both companies to be responsive and helpful.

However, I often find even with a horrible exchange rate and shipping, it's often cheaper to order from overseas. And often even faster to ship from around the world than within Australia when you don't have to deal with Australia Post. You might want to support the local business though, there's definitely merit in paying a few more coins to buy local.

Mazda AU quoted me over $1k. Not sure if that was parts guy confusion or fact.

The Treasure Coast Miata package is genuine and there’s a photo in packaging. I paid $450ish AuD shipped.

I have bought a bunch of bits including the full gasket kit from Miata Roadster. The Full genuine kit was $265 AUD ish (183 usd). The only issue at this Covid time is the shipping is taking ages  . Left West Covina USA June 18th, been sitting at NZ airport since the 1st July. Glad i'm not in a hurry.

I didn't know about the supplier "Treasure Coast Miata", thanks for the heads up

as Manga said MX5 parts UK is well worth a check. Aust pricing seems pretty crazy but they are not noted for reasonable pricing.
