nb mx5 aircon

Postby sweep77 » Mon Mar 08, 2021 8:24 pm

Apparently my refridgerant is leaking through my aircon hoses and I was told you can't buy these new anymore. Is it best to try source second hand ones or get new ones made up? Mechanic said hoses would cost about $250 each! and even then no guarantee that the compressor is still working. Is it best to replace the condensor and compressor as well? The system hasn't been working for maybe 7 years.

Most Aircon shops can add some gas with dye in it, so when it leaks, the dye is able to be seen under UV light.
Not sure what that'd cost you, but how else will you get any idea of what you're up against? 7 yrs of non use doesn't necessarily equate to being in good condition.
