Stewart CAI on NB8A?

Hi folks,

I had always intended to buy a Stewart CAI for my yet to be purchased MX5, and when one came up on eBay for the 1.8 a couple of weeks ago, I bought it...

I'm now considering an NB, and from having seen a few underbonnet pics of NB's, there looks to be part of the a/c system right where the CAI should go... I haven't inspected an NB just yet, and am sure I have seen a pic of an early NB without all this piping in front of the windscreen washer bottle, but would like to confirm.

So, can anyone confirm or deny whether the Stewart CAI which uses the std MX5 air filter, can be fitted to an NB8A?

Thanks

Gerard

From here-say and pictures i think the only thing you may have to relocate is the reciever/dryer/silver cylinder thingy and the washer bottle, both of which are not a big issue.

I found it easier to whip up a bracket for the washer bottle and shift it sideways using one of the original washer bolt holes and one of the bolts for the wiper motor.

As for aircon, well i just ripped the whole system out...

Actually, my car never had it, and to be honest doesnt miss it except for the hottest two weeks of the year between 10.00am and 2.00pm.

Yes, it does fit, I have one on our car. from memory, you have to move some part of the a/c, think it is only piping. cannot check now, car has gone to work.

Thanks guys :)

Looking at Andrew's photo, I reakon I could come up with something if I needed to anyway - move afm back towards rad, extend intake to filter piping, and new pipe from afm to throttle body...

Anyway, thanks again for the comments
