I have been told by my local brake man that this is amazing stuff, and well worth the extra cost. He has a race motorbike and cannot boil it. He is still using the same fluid he put in a year ago so it really takes the pounding you can give it.

I also remember *i think* Sean saying it was a good mod.

So, firstly, does anyone know somewhere it can be bought comparitively cheap - I was told $160 for 1L But I am not expecting it much cheaper than that, maybe between $120 - $140?

Secondly, seeing as i'd only need about 500ml, anyone want to go 50/50 on a bottle

Have you tried Motul RBF600 or the Ferodo \"Racing\" Fluid? A new option is Elf that Revo Racegear have supposedly starting selling. It's the same stuff the WRC cars use. I went from SRF to Elf and it's much better again. FWIW, a lot of the supercar teams use RBF600.

I was told that a lot of the \"Racing fluids\" require a complete cleanout of your brake lines. If there is any residue of the old fluid it (i have no idea how) fooks the new fluid. I was told SRF doesn't do this, hence it is great for a road car. Any clarification would be appreciated.

This guy at the brake shop also said he tried several brands of \"Racing fluid\" and they all boil sooner or later.

One of the purported benefits of the SRF is the long service intervals (18 months).

I've used it without problems in the past. Gone cheaper now that I haven't been tracking lately...

I did a complete flush when i put it in my car, since it is a dot 4 brake fluid you should be able to just fill up without doing a complete flush. I wouldnt recommend it though, as your mixing a high performance fluid with a standard... Besides you should flush the fluid from your brakes every couple years or so, as the brake fluid soaks up moisture overtime and effects the fluids braking capabilities. Took about an hour all up to do a complete flush, and used about a bottle and a half.

I run SRF.
$120 but that is through my mechanic.

Syringe as much of the old stuff out of the M/C as you can. Then run a clear tube off the brake line and pump until you see the new stuff.
