where do i grab the oil and coolant from the block of a b6?
Ive seen pictures of oil outlet at the back of the plenum, but think I got told you can also get it from the side of the block as there are two plugs in the side...see attached pic.
Think its lower plug is coolant and oil at the top? :S cant remember
which is which and wat is better? block or the behind the plenum?
Also where should i tap in my coolant return too?

When we did the turbo install on the Moneypit we copied the SP installation and sourced the oil from the rear exhaust side of the head and got the cooloant from the water bypass tube that runs from the thermostat housing to the water pump. Nothing has seized up or melted so I guess it's working OK.

The oil pickup point is the small, more oily plug, bottom right of the two in the photo for the 1.6l engine.
I used the existing water junction at the front of the block for the water pickup and drain.
I used the Fly'n Miata install instructions for the 1.6l engine.

There's my fitting going into the side of my block for my turbo setup. The used one is the oil one (in agreeance with Juffa nad Garry).
With that there, I honestly struggle to understand why people go through the garbage of T-piecing the oil pressure sendor and running a long hose around.

I used both of them for my setup. Bottom right is the oil pressure and top left is coolant pressure.

ok great great... Thanks
Now jus the last question i hope someone can help me.
Do they have a picture of where they put there Coolant REturn back in to the cooling system?
Is it possible just to tap in to one of the radiator hoses? Eg top hose? or is that bad idea because your therefore giving your motor heated up coolant thats just passed thru the turbo ?
Thanks for your help, if you have any good links that go in to better detail on where to put your coolant return please post if up

Thanks

Do any of you guys happen to know the thread details for this oil bolt?
I want to use it for an oil temp sensor, but need to get either an adaptor, or a new sender (the autometer one I have is too narrow a thread)

If I remember, and have a matching tap I'll be able to tell you the exact size tomorrow. I would -guess- M8x1.25 but I can't say for sure.
