I went with a PWR (without oil cooler). My old one had a few leaks and I was planning to go down the forced induction path I wanted something that wouldn't let me down.

I would suggest that you replace all of the cooling system hoses at the same time. I have replaced the radiators on two MX-5s and in both cases some of the hoses started to leak.

I went to u-pullit (bring your own tools wrecking yard)in adelaide
and found a tm magna with a brand new radiator(same as vn rad) got the radiator for $40
then when to the local radiator joint and they cut modded the mounts to
suit the mx5 and put it in,
its bigger than the mx5 example and looks the goods
cost me $200 all up and my car NEVER sees over 84'c water temps
and thats with a turbo!
so with a na it should run super cool 8)
hope it helps!

I got a new top tank for mine 3+ years ago. No probs even in the depths of summer and I use the car for track days too.

Hey Duj,
About the Magna/VN rad; do they need to be cut down to fit or are they the right size to fit?? I'm keen on upgrading my rad too. Boost + track day = over heat, but boost + track day + heater on full blast = ok

Also are they much thicker?

Cheers mate

I'm using a 38mm PWR. This thing is a monster. Brilliant radiator - pricey but definitely worth the money. I got mine from a reseller for $750 delivered.

For a NA radiator check out www.adrad.com.au

For NB,I got a new genuine radiator for my SE racer from mazda...price surprised me...under $300.

I too got a PWR 38mm radiator - mine cost about $770. Excellent radiator, I never have cooling issues, even looks a bit bling.

But would I get one again - absolutely no way... $800 for a radiator! Absolutely bloody ridiculous. I unfortunately couldn't find (or didn't look hard enough) a radiator that would do the job at the time.

I consider about $3-400 okay for a radiator. I'd listen to Duj's suggestion, sounds like the go...

Yes the magna radiator was quite large,
I worried for a bit because it only just fits in between the chassis rails,
bu the radiator guy mounted it at the top as there was no room on the sides, hard to visualise i guess.
il send u a pic of my engine bay if you like
if you can get a big radiator in good cond for cheap you'l just have to pay for a the labour
