ok i realise i am starting a lot of threads. sorry if i'm getting on people's nerves , but i DO try and use the search function but usually i just get a \"timeout\" error. maybe it is coz i am on dialup.

so, anyway, i'm looking for a nice cheap boost gauge that will fit into one of the airvents on the centre console of my na6. so i need to know the correct size to get to make fitment nice and snug and easy. i would also like the gauge to look similar to the gauges in the instrument cluster, so, black with white lettering in a similar font, preferably with a white needle but red is fine. and i want it to read up to 15 or 20 psi as i won't be going any higher than about 10 psi. so 30 psi gauges are out.

i've found a few that look ok on ebay, but thought i'd ask if anyone knows of a specific gauge that fits the bill. or if you can just tell me what size gauge will fit nicely into the airvent, and i can take it from there.

Use some of the modifiers for the search like a specif section of the forum and the number of months/weeks. This usually solves the time out problem.

I just tried 'boost gauge' and got 92 hits.

I am pretty sure its the 2-1/16\" guages that fit in the vent. I have an autometer which seems to work just fine, but it isnt in a vent.

The bigger isze guages fit in the air vents perfectly.... 2 5/8 inch i think they are.

Eboost2. are good, but bloody expensive and if you just want to know what boost your hitting not worth it.

Look on www.alldayperformance.com.au I bought all my stuff from them and they have pictures....

Realistically though, it depends what you are after, if you really never intend to add more than stock boost, you don't need the eboost2, not could you warrant the expense.

That said, if you have stock boost, you don't need a gauge

Seriously though, if you just want a fairly basic gauage, I'd recommend the splitfire ones... They are in the cheaper end of the market and are a fairly well constructed bit of gear - much better quality then similarly priced competitiors.

The size you need to fit into the gauge cup is 2 5/8 inch, this is genrally teh bigger of the two sizes most caompanies offer, and I know you can definately get the Splitfires in this size. My Eboost is a similar size and also fits perfectly where the air con vent used to be.

Exactly, allday are good guys, they are fairly close to where I live, and they certainly look after people on pricing. If you're just looking for a cheap effective bit of gear though, think splitfire, and look on ebay

I would go VDO gauges, there cheap, work well, and match the interior..

I have a couple in my car.. might not be as \"fully sick\" as most of the others out there, but their good if you dont want your gauges to stand out like a sore thumb. I have always had a soft spot for VDO gauges.. their just so simple, and elegant looking.

Good advice, I sprayed my Autometer ones to look more OEM.

I'm also using a VDO in the driver's air vent.
Mine's white with black lettering and matches the dashboard instruments very well.
For something with as good a name as VDO, they're pretty cheap too and have a very good parts and warranty back-up.

I have an autometer mounted in a black cup on the A-pillar. I've never gotten a single bit of police attention from it as it's fairly well stealthed IMO.

C+C, I don't know about all your wants, but you will findm that most gauges can be changes to illuminate in any colour with small rubber boots that fit over the light globes in them. Many name brands come with red, yellow blue and green boots included as stock so you can get them to match.

here you go C+C..



Vdo's come with a green and red cover for the light, so you just put the red cover on the globe, and away you go..

Mine, in my photos above have a red backlighting. It's not quite the same as the black parts of the gauge face changing to red, but it still matches in.

I've used this style of Autometer in the SP since new. Not a great sweep but good enough for a cheapie gauge.

Matches the stock dash fairly well but I have this mounted down in the lower left of the dash panel just above my clutch leg. Keeps the "Q-Ship" factor the SP well intact
