I remember reading an article about this process in Fast Fours and Rotaries probably over 10 years ago now...
They certainly gave it a good wrap, and flow testing showed worth while improvements.

This process is certainly the goods on S6 Rx7 manifolds
Let us know how it goes on teh MX and what it costs you.
Very interested to see the results.

Yep me too. Heard good things, but believe the cost is quite high for the return. Ford used it on the UK market Mondeo V6, allegedly added HP (<10 though).

Can even be done to \"Hi-Flo\" turbos aswell.
got any rough indication of cost?

that looks like a pretty good improvement!!! especially the evening out of the cylinders. Cant wait to see the dyno figures!
Might be a good upgrade for most cars, as it should improve throttle response a bit on the N/A's too.
Hey i see in your sig your comming up to ipswich?! You'll have to drift at QR with us

Something that you may need to consider is that the stock AFM on the B6 is allegedly only good for 165cfm. If this is still fitted to your engine and the limit is true, flowing the manifold better will make no real difference.
Flowing the head better will make a difference, but you will get to the 165cfm quicker.

If you have access to a stock manifold after you have had the head ported it would be interesting to see the results.

This is a great thread, i'm looking forward to seeing more results.
Have you looked at Matty's article on building a CAI? I think he had tested the rest of the intake/AFM/airbox to find out each restriction.

I would like to get it done to my NB8A intake, it would be interesting to see the bench tests between the two OEM intakes.

um since i don't have a afm anymore i don't have that problem
I thought that might be the case, but was unsure.
Agreed, AFM no longer a limitation.

was the throttle response improved at all? is that kind of power what most stockish mx5's pull?
cheers for letting us know how it went!!
Dave
PS mx5 tandem drift will be awesome!!
