emissions test result for standard (mania CAI) NB8A - rich?

Postby tk421 » Wed Mar 14, 2007 9:05 pm

Hi Dudes,

I had my emissions test today at the botany test centre pre a fast forward supercharger install. The results as shown on the sheet were as follows:

THC g/km = 0.19
NOx g/km = 0.45
CO g/km = 1.0
C02 g/km = 184.2

kw = 7.7
kg = 1134

The car has done 94k's, has a mania through firewall CAI, iridiums and magnecor leads. I think there may have been 95 octane in tank due to there not being 98 at the last servo I went to

The guy said it was a pass however the THC number was a bit high and should have been in the 0.0# range for a car of this year and k's. Apparently 0.26 is the max allowable for the car. He said if this value is high it suggests a rich scenario.

Obviously I will get it checked out properly but any opinions on the most likely cause of this? Oxy sensor? Cat?. Note I will likely be replacing the exhaust system / cat as part of the SC install and it smelt a bit rich inside just after the wakefield track day just passed (roof was up).

I'm not concerned at all about the FFS kit installed on top of this as emissions should be unaffected by it according to Tom (as the carb powercard settings are identical to ours). At the same time makes sense to sort it out tho.

Any ideas / experiences you have had would great.

Cheers

Steve
