Hey hope someone here can help
only noticed this morning and confirmed that it only happens if i'm in traffic for a while so here's what happened

driving normally then get stuck in traffic, spend most of the time creeping as you normally do in traffic, then after about 20 mins I notice a high pitched sound coming from the car, it changes pitch when I use the clutch each time I move forwards, coming from the passenger side somewhere

but tonight when driving to work there was no noise at all even though it's a 30 min drive

this is the only time I have notice it since normally I don't have the mx in traffic I use my other car

any idea's???

I would say it is your throwout bearing, either ignore it till it gores pop or spend the $$ now getting the box out to replace it and then spend the $$ all over again when you need a new clutch.

Mine is a bit noisy too, I am sticking with the first option, fix it when its broke.

Could be the spigot bearing also(mine made a high pitched squeal). Either way replace them both when one fails.

Not a stupid question at all just because you don't know about something. 8)

Failure will mean it is very hard or impossible to select a gear with the engine running.
As the clutch will still be spinning because of either the seized spigot bearing, or the throw out bearing wont allow enough travel because it has collapsed.

I changed my spigot bearing before this happened because I was getting strange stares  when driving in traffic and car parks.
