In the last few days I could hear this coolant gargling sound coming behind the dash, probably the heater core, has anyone had this problem?I'm thinking leaky headgasket, but coolant level has not gone down, the car does feel a bit unresponsive down low compared to it's normal self, idle up to 3000rpms,what can I check to see if it is the headgasket?it is a turbo na6,runs fine apart from that, just want to fix it before it gets worse.

white-ish residue in the coolant when you look into the radiator, same with looking at the engine oil cap.
Get someone to to stomp the accelerator, whilst it's parked & in neutral of course, and rev it to 6,000rpm or so, to see the colour of the exhaust smoke.
Once again, whitish smoke could mean head-gasket.
The noise could be your AC though.

Pop a new thermostat in it, bubbling could be the result of overheating or a possible blockage too.

you sure it's not the ol' 'gearbox neutral switch' problem Craig?

coolant and oil have no cross contamination,it overheated when my friend was driving,I took it out today and for some reason the tune was very lean so plug in the laptop and put some more fuel in and it seems alright, bubbling noise could be air trapped in the system, will keep an eye or ear on it.
