How effective is a resonator at reducing DB?

I have a really nice exhaust....twin tip stainless, but its a bit too loud and boomy for me....how effective is a resonator at quieting down an exhaust? Can anyone reccomend a particular type?

Hi Adam,
You would be surprised at how much difference a 12-15inch straight through reasonator in the midpipe will make!
Xforce have a good stainless one ,

Thanks Peter....i might as well give it a go....im half inclined to go back to stock, but having cut the bumper to fit this, i will perservere!

you could also fit a turbo to reduce exhaust noise
