NB Stock Intake and Airbox

Postby systmoveride » Thu Jul 02, 2020 9:58 pm

Does anyone have a diagram of all the bits and pieces necessary to revert my car back to a stock intake? I took my NitroDann kit out and attempted to put the stock box back in, and now I'm feeling that I'm actually missing a decent amount of parts required to make it work :(
Can't seem to figure out where the box bolts to either or what bolts it uses.
The car came with a generic HKS mushroom pod just off the TB when I got it and I was just given a bunch of loose parts (being the stock air intake etc) so, plus goolging I haven't had much success aside from how to install other intakes..

Any help would be appreciated!

Here ya go.

Someone asked the exact same question on the big forum

The thread also includes a diagram of the intake system.

Yeah I saw that post, I feel like it wasn't terribly helpful though, as I tried to fit everything together and things didn't seem to line up.
I was also looking more for info on specific bits like whether the crossover pip has a rubber seal on each side, as mine only seems to have one on what appears to be the intake mani side but should it have one on the MAF side too?
Perhaps I'll need to spend another day looking at the engine bay and figuring it out. Due to past owner(s) I also don't have what I have seen commonly referred to as the "relay wall", so not sure how much that's affecting my ability to piece bits together as perhaps I have some relays in the way.

Oh well, cheers anyway :)

The relay wall doesn't have anything attached to it other than the relays themselves. All the hoses etc go over or around it.
Not sure what you mean by a rubber seal? Can you post a photo? From the Maf there's a rubber/hardish plastic concertina pipe that clamps to the MAF and the other end clamps to the bent silver pipe closest to the engine. The clamped hose is the seal to the metal pipes.

You could look up the Mazda service repair manuals which will cover it.
