Hey Guys,
My check engine light has come on (error code 'P0420 - Catalyst system efficiency below threshold'). The exhaust system is custom 2.5 inch that Dann Jolly fab'd for me.. apparently the cat is a 91006M magnaflow 200 CPSI item and it's lasted me a solid 4 years (I track the car). I went to an exhaust shop and was told that it is most likely the cat that's gone and needs replacing.
Can anyone confirm if a 200 CPSI cat is indeed enough to keep the check engine light from coming on again? Or if anyone has replaced their cat with an aftermarket item - which one? e.g. mania as a 'universal' xforce item which is much cheaper than the magnaflow item https://mx5mania.com.au/products/x-force-hi-flow-catalytic-converters-universal.
In saying that, would like it to last for a while. Keen to hear your thoughts.
Cheers,
J.
