Brakes & suspension ideas

Postby PatScully » Tue Apr 04, 2017 12:39 pm

G'day, I'm currently looking to beef up my suspension and brakes on my 1990 NA MX-5, wondering if anyone has any suggestions for parts, or even a workshop that could help out.

Hi
Try and get a set of 2nd factory Bilsteins, Forum Ebay Gumtree, and NA8, or even better NB sport front brakes, save your self a lot of money
You wont need a workshop to do it, it really is basic.
Cheers
Steven

Suspension
  1. Budget
  2. Use (spirited driving, daily, track, stance, hard parking)
  3. Expectations (stiff, knocks teeth out, marshmallow, wallows)
  4. Unsprung weight
  5. Alignment
  6. Ride height
  7. Adjustability 2/4 way
  8. Sway bars
  9. Endlinks
  10. Bushes

Brakes - remember the brakes provide the torque to stop BUT the tyres provide the grip to stop
  1. Budget
  2. Use (spirited driving, daily, track, stance, hard parking)
  3. Expectations (dust, noise, rotor wear)
  4. Maintenance costs (cost of rotors, pads, rebuild kits)
