Just acquired myself a set of these fine shocks with a set of King Springs, and I was just wondering what you have them all set at in terms of firmness. I was just speaking to the importer of them, and he reckons about .5turns for the road, but not to have them at the full 2.5turns for the track. So pretty much just want to know what you guys have them set at for what scenario?

If it's 2.5 revolutions from full soft to full hard, then:
Track = 2 (and a bit) revolutions front, 1.75 revolutions rear.
Road = 1.5 revolutions front, 1 (and a bit) revolutions rear.

Keeping in mind that my dampers have about 30,000km on them, so they are probably more loose than new ones, so I have to compensate by setting them a bit harder.

I would suggest softening the road settings more than what I have, if you drive around roads that are considerably bumpy.

The stiffness of your tyres, rate of your springs, and condition of your bushes also have an influence on how hard/soft you should set your settings.

i have them on full soft for the road as ium running low profile 17" tyres

and just over 2 turns for the trackwork

Yeh the shocks are second hand, so unsure about distance travelled, but they look is reasonably good nick.

So with spring rates, the stiffer the springs the softer the shocks? So whereas the stock springs (which would be soft) would get 2 turns, very stuff springs would get only 1 turns???

i've got kings on yellow konis and had them on full soft for a while, but have now found that dialing in 3/4 or 1 turn from full soft helps keep the car off the (stock) bump stops. the ride is less harsh, although bumpier this way.

no - the stiffer the spring, the stiffer the shock needs to be.

I thought the adjustment in yellow koni's only took out the slack from wear?

I have koni's and agree with others, typically a little firmer on the front seems to work well.

One thing to be aware of, if you use the lowest ride height on the rear, you will probably find that you are pretty much on the bump stops on the back suspension. So you will have little or no suspension travel. Either use the next lowest platform, or consider changing the top mounts on rear. It is a known problem when lowering.

I managed to pick up some apexi top mounts, but needed some bushes fabricating. FM do some top mounts too.
