Just spotted this "Chaparral Racer Wheel Tyre Package with 225/45/15 Hankook R-S3 In 5 Cool Colours" deal while trolling the internet so thought I'd share it:

This is pretty good package deal if you're interested in a new wheel+tyre combination AND they do ship to Australia AND it's comfortable under the A$1,000 limit so you wont need to pay Import Duty:

"This package is perfect for Track Days and Autocross event. yet many of our customers drive this combo daily because of its' versitility.. The Venerable Chaparral: Perhaps the Best selling replacement wheel for the Miata, Mounted and Balanced with Hankook Ventus R-S3 Performance Tires in a fatty 225/45/15 size.

Hankook Ventus R-S3 Specs and Info Note to our Australian customers: Due to the recent size restrictions instituted by the Australian postal service, at this time, we no longer ship this item using USPS. Please select FedEX International Economy for a proper quote. We are working on a solution to this and apologize for the inconvenience."

Seems like a good deal. I calculate a saving of $140 off RRP if you buy them separately, not to mention the cost of fitting and balancing.

I agree with Davex3, 225's are too wide a tyre on 7 inch rims. Also I reckon the fitment wouldn't look good in the flesh.

What about postage? Should be an extra few hundred dollars

Try $900 to Victoria!! not sure where that puts them in comparison to aussie pricing.

I have Chapparals and love them but they are certainly not light weight, something like 7.5 kg from memory.

Interesting if you look a Rspeed's website that the Dunlops that are more expensive in Australia are cheaper then Yoko S drives in the US.
