Hi all,

I have been searching a little for adjustable lower control arms. This is because at the low height i run the car the factory adjustment is already max and i still have to much camber.......

yes yes i know just raise it and it will handle better too....... but i cant stand being as high as a porsche !

anyway there are heaps of options for the mazda FD rx7 and there standard arms are alloy....... they look similar..... dose anyone know if they fit in any model mx5 ?

I found some more arm's made by a company in Japan........ http://homepage2.nifty.com/manatee/roadster/piroarm.htm

I dont think they will give roll center adjustment though.

Why dont you just put in offset bushes?
You can put them in top and bottom, and that will give you about 3 - 4 degrees more adjustability.

Obviously put them in the reverse of what the guys do who use them for extra neg camber...

OK thats a cheap option..... but not great when i wanna make quick adjustments at the track. I do 8 wheel alighnments a year.... because i hit stuff and bump my setting a bit....

What can be done to help with roll center adjustment on the mx5 ?

Unless you buy the FM arms (which are uber expensive but bloody awesome), you are pretty much limited to offset bushes as your only good option.

Forget the cheap eBay control arms - they are very poor. There is a recent thread on this topic and in there I posted a link to a CR.net thread showing how quickly they go "snap".

Ive been strongly considering building some upper arms with a threaded for the rod front and rear, it would make getting the perfect setup pretty easy.

It would be sort of hard to modify the stock ones so Ive still to make up my mind how to go about it.

Seriously Waz, have you thought about doing some cutting and welding on the subframes to move down the lower control arm mounts? Then you could lower the roll centre while still using standard control arms. It would mean that you could use standard adjusting bolts and straight bushes, rather than the offset bushes which are a PITA sometimes for adjusting and also more prone to losing it.
