Is Suspension from NB8A to NB8B with ABS?

Hi,
I've got a set of nb8a shocks that have only gone 40000kms.
I'm looking to put them into my NB8B with ABS.
Is there any difference?

The abs rings are on the hubs not the shocks. So thats fine, but the shocks may have a mounting point for the wires, though I doubt it.

From further searching It seems the abs ones do have a point to secure the wires to.
Other forums have said that heavy duty cable ties do the job.
Suppose I'll have to have a better look before pulling them out.

The two bolt holes on the bracket are for the ABS sensor from memory, not just the wires and you need a solid constant mount in relation to the hub ring else your ABS will think the wheels are locked all the time and you'll get some possible very bad effects. E.g until it fault codes and hopefully disables the ABS altogether you may have no brakes and each time you restart it may re-test the ABS and retry using it.... Not sure what the ABS system will do in a Mx5 specifically but in a friends ED fairlane for example when his sensors screwed up he had a very close call coming down macquarie pass due to massive shudder from the unit in panic mode. He ended having to hand-brake plus force the gear down, pull over then pull the ABS power relay and living with the dash light and no ABS. It's a simple bracket to make but I don't know what the stock shocks are made of, not sure how thick the shock body is but I imagine not very and doing it could coke up some of the oil. I personally wouldn't bother.

Nah, the 1 mounting point on the shock is definitely for keeping the wires out of the way.
No abs hardware is mounted to them.
There isn't ever this mounting point on coilovers. And there's plenty of nb8b/cs running them.

My tein monoflex have the brackets but yeah they are just for the ABS sensor wires and there's only one bolt. I went downstairs and had a look just then. Should be fine to just wire tie them, I've actually got brake lines wire-tied to that bracket as a safety measure to keep them away from the 8" rims. I just remembered it incorrectly from the 5 years ago when I installed the coil-overs

I just looked at my HKS coilovers, if you add cable ties to it is it considered as additional "unsprung weight"???

The weight of a cable tie couldn't be noticeable.

Kind of a 'princess and the pea' concept.

Lol at wilstar.

My car has many screws and bolts that have been cut shorter than stock. Along with all the zipties cut to the shortest length possible.

Ha! Have you got it below 800Kg yet?

Or do you have to go to thinner cable ties?
