However, without the metric adapters that FM provide, the brake lines will have to be flared to fit. If you want an easily reversible solution, the FM kit is better value. If you are in Sydney, and planning to go with the FM kit, I might be interested in ordering in a kit to save on shipping.

I can vouch for the FM kit. It's a beauty. I had to give the brake lines a bit of a tweak to get them to line up nicely, but that wasn't too difficult. You simply take the OEM pressure limiter out and bolt the Wilwood one in it's place. The positioning and fit-up are sweet!

I spent ages trying to track down the adapter fittings from FM because I can get the bias valve down the road for less then the FM kit. This is mainly due to FM's stupidly expensive postage! I would buy the FM kit in a blink, but I find it hard to believe I can get 4 text books from amazon and pay less postage then what FM wants to charge me for and item under 1kg and no bigger then a dvd box (just a bit thinker).

The adapters are impossible to find. I got quoted $20 to change the fittings over at a local brake place, so i'll be going down that path.

The valve itself, I have found to be a pretty common item in most performance shops.

Nope.

The way the prop valve works is to run the two front lines directly off the Master Cylinder, and to run the rear line through the prop valve. The rear bias is what you adjust. One valve is all you need. There is only one line going aft from the engine bay - this line is then split at the block just inboard from the rear right wheel.

Uhh, I guess so... The valve only has the facility for 1 line in, 1 line out... So unless you tie the two rear lines together... and on BOTH sides of the prop valve...

Wow that could make adjustment difficult, but it would be nice once you got it right.

$20/- wow.. that's cheap. what are you having done? I'm taking mine in to the local brake shop to be installed and figured flaring brake lines and install would take a bit of time.

would be great if something could be modified to make it more of a bolt-on...

FWIW... I purchased an extra kit from Flyin' Miata since someone is bound to want to get one at some time, and it didn't add much to the shipping cost.

having them adjustable from inside the cabin is definitely not legal. not too sure of the legalities of simply swapping over the existing proportioning valve with the adjustable one... probably not.
