I am looking to upgrade the brakes (callipers, rotor, lines) on my NA6 and was wondering the compatibility with SE.
Is it a straight bolt on? what parts are needed for a bolt on upgrade?

many thanks for your help.

Cheers

All MX5's from the NB8B until the NC have the same brakes (excluding the automatic cars) The SE hardware is just silver instead of raw cast iron.

At a minimum, you'll need calipers, mounting brackets and rotors. Not sure if the master cylinder in your car will be appropriate either.

You just need any nb8b rotors and calipers. They bolt straight on. I even have a spare set. You don't need to upgrade anything else. But i would get some braided brake lines, good pads and fluid to go with it. May as well get the rotors machined before you put on the new pads too. And if you get an adjustable valve it will be the best for ultimate braking as the prortioning valva in an na6 is different to an nb8b.

Every model is a straight swap.

Expect a slightly longer pedal with the stock master cylinder.

I put SE front brakes on a 99 NB with ABS, leaving the rear as standard. Works a treat on the track without any bias adjustment.

I had nb8b brakes on my turbo na6 and never bought a prop valve. It worked fine, but i would have liked to have the adjustment there.
