quite right , my bad and after reading a few reviews and a 64% overall rating I don't think I want them , they're obviously realy well known--ah hem .

I've run Hankook's on various cars and have been quite happy.
Korean tyres shouldn't be underestimated these days.....and they are the supplier of the control tyre for the DTM and are apparently aiming to be the 5th largest tyre manufacturer in the world (currently 7th). They wouldn't be spending all that money in a premium market to then supply crap to consumers. All the hard work and money would be a waste.
I'm a fussy tyre guy too but always willing to give stuff a go....(except Achilles, Goodrun and any other Chinese tyres at the moment).

I'm actualy wondering at the worth of reviews and wondering just the fact that someone has bothered filling in the review in makes it sus.
I just got given a new set of Symex SM8000 and read a fair amount of negative tthit about them (a little good as well) so I had them fitted with a fair amount of misgiving.
So far they have been a delight to drive on dry and I'm betting that they'll be ok in the wet as well given the low MX5 pressure I'm running them on (29psi).
I certainly wouldn't have bought them after the reviews I read --and I would have missed out on a good value buy.

Simex is another under rated brand too in my opinion. Ran them on a modified VR6 Passat which I caned and got a solid 35,000kms with great wet weather performance. Keep us updated on your experiences

But what is your benchmark?
I currently have Bluestreak Stillettos on my daily.
They are a fine tyre, and have plenty of grip etc when driving.
HOWEVER.
If I compare them to the Toyo Proxes4 that were on the car prior, they are sh*t.

Interesting point , benchmarking, in the instance of tyres mine is to have a tyre that will perform as safely as possible in any of the conditions I can anticipate driving in with no known faults or built in detrimental eccentricities and that is of a standard that is sufficient to deal with the type of power the vehicle it is on produces.
I don't push my cars around and don't see the need to P Zero Nero with the associated costs the ass of every vehicle I have to put tyres on, this does not mean that I believe in putting re-caps on everything either. , or actualy on anything when I think about it

Only in Queensland

Had 2 different types of Hankooks on my Focus, 1 set was Ventus, both sets ended up getting buldges in the sidewall. I only went with the 2nd set because I couldnt buy 1 tyre to replace the damaged tyre at the time as they were unavailable .I wouldnt touch them with a barge pole now.

Hankook RS3 - Winner of Time attack clubsprint class 2011.
Just sayin...
Hankook Semi's are brilliant too. Pity the only applicable size available is a 195 55 R15.
