Rear calliper piston not winding in

Today I decided to install new pads and rotors for the rears and the fronts but when I went to do the rears, turning the allen key didn't pull the piston back or even push it forward enough for the pads to touch the rotor. New calliper? could I rebuild it? can I just replace that thread somehow?

is the bleed valve open?

I fixed the problem. Just winded the grub screw all the way out then used a c clamp and the old brake pads to very carefully push the piston back in then winded the grub screw back in and the mechanism works perfectly now.

Did you check the slide pin on the rear brake in question ? If not maintained correctly the slide pin can corrode and cause the problem as reported. Using the G clamp may have been enough to free it. You should check all of the slide pins at least once a year and use an appropriate lubricant. A small sachet can be bought at Super Cheap and will last for some the.

The side that I had this problem with was also a bit harder to take the slide pin out which could have caused the problem. I greased it with what came with my pads and ill inspect the slide pin next weekend, thanks

Also, on RHD NA, the rear passenger side adjuster tends to be the first to start siezing:
