About Track Day
Track day has been put together as an event for people who want extra track time and can participate during the week.
The day is run as a sprint event, where cars are spaced equally on the track, and overtaking is only allowed under controlled conditions (see below).
All car makes and models are welcome. Each set on the track is made up of cars with similar lap times to minimize overtaking.
You can expect to get at least 28 laps. Usually extra sets are available as the day progresses.
The events are held at Queensland Raceway which is on Champions Way, just off the Cunningham Highway near Ipswich. Approximately 20 minutes drive from the intersection of the Western Freeway and Ipswich Motorways.
You also require a Queensland Raceway annual license which costs about $55 and can be bought on the day.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Track Day
Times
The gates will be open at 7:30am for driver check-in. Get there early, sign in, get your car number, go to your pit bay and setup your car.
Driver briefing will be at 8:10am. If you miss it, you may miss your first set.
We will be on track from 8:30am to 12:30am.
The front gates will be shut once the track day starts.
Track Use
There will be a maximum of 10 cars per set on the track (Clubman, Sprint), with 5 sets of cars for the ½ day. So there will be a maximum of 50 cars on the ½ day. (15 cars on the National circuit)
A set will comprise of 1 warm up lap, 5 hot laps and 1 cool down lap. (7 laps)
We have an electronic timing system to 1/100th of a lap. At the end of each set a printout of the lap times will be available. There will also be a printout at the end of the day showing all your laps for the day.
We have a large electronic sign that will show live speed on the main straight, lap times and the number of the next group to be on the track. Your group number is printed on the sheet with your car number.
Spectators
Spectators will be in the spectator area. No one will be allowed to cross pit lane for viewing.
Only drivers and a nominated crew member will be allowed into the pit area where the cars are. All other spectators will be in the spectator area.
If you bring someone as a spectator you are responsible for their behavior. If they break the rules both of you will be excluded from future events.
Cheers,
Danny

Don't be concerned about ability....this was the original reason we started these track days.....to give people like us the chance to experience what its like to really drive a car at whatever limit your comfortable with

You won't be racing door to door with other cars, just racing the clock. The group consists are selected by having people with similar vehicle performance and driver ability together. This ensures that overtaking is kept to a minimum during each sprint.
Also, if you want to volunteer (ie. help out with making the day run smoothly for half the event), you get to drive the other half of the event for free!!! (the $55 or the licence lasts for 12 months).
You'll love it!!!!!!!
