Bridge is poor for MX5s. You can't see over the railing.
As for the drive, bridge is boring but you do National Park before that and that's great at night with no traffic or early morning with the bikes.

The area is south of Stanwell Park, looky here

Well guys travelling over the bridge is good and I do agree that you can't see particularly well over the guard rail but if you travel from Wollongong way and come over the bridge from that direction the view is more spectacular and then head back through the National Park.

Drove the bridge on Sunday on my way south, it looks more impressive in photos than it was in reality. The National park just to the north was good value except for the traffic

On a positive note, I have fallen in love with the NSW south coast.

I grew up in the area and still visit my parents regularly, I almost always turn off to the National Park at Waterfall and head south via Bald Hill (above stanwell park). The road down into the National Park from waterfall is just incredible for the MX-5, no potholes and non stop tight cornering, just as much fun on a Big Bike as well.
Try taking a walk across the Sky Bridge, you can park on the side of the road at the southern end - then stop for a Coffee on the way back at Stanwell Park at the Cafe which is along a short road, it is an open air Cafe located on a large Park adjacent to the beach and plenty of parking so you can enjoy a coffee while watching the rubber still melting off your tires.

Best time to do the drive is a weekday, rarely any cars on the run down from Waterfall.
