Is there any fixed camera's etc.? Is it a high risk area for losing your license?
I'm keen to check it out but don't like leaving the relative safety of the hills, this kind of sounds like a hot spot.

It was good until they put in all the traffic calming devices.
Good for push bike riding. They used to race criteriums at the little circular island at the top.

Sorry, I didn't mean to kill the converation. Don't get me wrong I have nothing against people doing that on that road, I would be doing it aswell if I lived there.

As far as I know, there are no fixed camera's. I head down for a late night cruise usually twice a month, and always do a first run at 50kph looking for camera's. I've never actually seen a camera on the boulevard, although I did just get my license 8 months ago, but due to the hype and the amount of spottings in the past, I always make sure to check just in-case. However, there are often unmarked as well as normal police cars cruising along it at around 8-10pm. Have never seen one after 3am.

And while this thread has been revived, it had reminded me to note that I nearly got nabbed by an unmarked rozzer at the roundabout just after the bridge over the Eastern Freeway. The guy waved me in and yelled "You were this close to getting a ticket!" from his car. I apologised and went on my way. I don't even think I was going too fast...
The speed limit there is stupid, and it completely ruins a potentially safe and enjoyable road. But as long as it saves one life...

I really don't see the point of driving these inner city roads in anger. There are better, longer, safer and less policed and higher speed zoned roads less than 1 hr away. With tighter laws and all the negative BS in the media regarding "hoons" you are just contributing to the arguments against us.
Do all sports car enthusiasts a favour and take your fun out of the suburbs......its not rocket science.
Apologies for the grandpa rant.

It's a really nice stretch of road which is pretty much on the way home for anyone who lives on the eastern side of the CBD, and with a bit of mindful, intelligent driving, I reckon 60 or 70 can still be safe. 50 is ludicrously slow for a road that wide.
I do agree with you that there are better roads out in the sticks, but for a quick blast on my way home from work or uni, it can provide a bit of quick relief

and cost you points and $$- no sense anymore -50 might be rubbish but the one thing the Govt does well is raise a lot of money from cameras.

Nearly every night on the way home from work I take a small detour for a quick blast through at 4am (work nights at crown casino). In the 3 months of doing it I've seen 2 police cars. Been pulled over once and was let off with a warning and told its too cold to be driving with the roof down
. If you cant sleep or just wanting a late night adrenaline rush with minimal traffic it's perfect. Police blitz this long w.e so wouldn't recommend it for a few days...

There has been a house with a fake flash since the mid 90s. Back then there weren't any islands in The Boulevard, just painted lines.
