What - In year 12 with a MX-5? Bloody luxury! In my day we had half a bicycle without a handlebar and we used kid sister as the front wheel.....

Good on you Ben. Nice to see some Gen Ys make the effort to help themselves. You and your young friends are fine examples for all of us - even us oldies!

cheers

Thats really nice to hear, I had thought that most Gen Y had issues with responsiblity and general maturity. Glad to see the some of the youth of Australia are thinking productively. Sadly I have had alot of experience with lackluster Gen X as I was once headed down that path.

How did you guys go on the drive anyhows? Any pictures?

Yeh I should hopefully have it sorted next weekend when I take the engine apart and have a good look in there.

I just spent 3 days in Lorne, and took the opportunity to do some serious driving! Spent a couple days flying up and down the GOR (Was a monday - wednesday, so not too much traffic but did run into some tourists, there's enough places to overtake to still have fun however!)

Also went for a blast along Deans Marsh rd, then through the country for a bit and through about 40km of twisties into the back of Apollo Bay, absolutely amazing drive! Except when I hit and killed a duckling :( Poor little fella was crossing the road with his mum, brothers and sisters as I came over a crest...

And whats better than an MX-5 on the GOR...?

2 MX-5's on the GOR!!

I live in Sydney and its even a better drive when you only get to do it 1-2 times a year.

This Christmas will be the first with an Mx5... so yeah we'll see how I like it :)

I did an 11pm run once, couldn't stand the oncoming headlights, and less visibility. Oncoming headlights probably wouldn't be much of an issue at 2.30, but still prefer having the daylight of a morning run at 5.30am. 8)

Yeah, headlights weren't an issue at 2.30am lol.

I like 5.30am runs, but there are to many cars on the road at that time. I've done the GOR about 10-12 times since May between 1-5am, and it seems if you go between about 1.30-4am there are no cars. I think i've only ever past 1 car and it was an NA headed the other way (towards geelong).

Also I think I drive better at night, I take in to much information in the day and lose concentration, my lines are just cleaner at night.
Great looking 02 BLACK NB8B, Tein S Tech Coils, Whiteline Adjustable Sways F&R, Carbing Alloy Rear Strut Brace ;)
