Mine is the MF43... I didn't realise that they had changed the 'recommended' battery in their list to the 20

i think mine is the MF43 also.

it's a huge battery compared to my optima - barely fit in the battery tray. i had to extend the battery clamp with a big cable tie because the battery was so tall.

yes kinda
takes longer to start the car than the new battery thats for sure
and its got that oily crap over the battery again even tho i just wiped it off the other few days ago

its better to let it go than to be stuck in the middle of no where when i least expect it

yeah mines taller than the panasonic that was in there so i just stuck the clamp into the top hole and screwed it down not fully tho didn't really wanna put too much pressure on the battery

so this gold battery doesn't require any tubes connected to it correct?

Correct - there is a tiny vent hole on the Supercharge, but the calcium cells are a 'low gas' system so it vents way less gas than a normal lead acid battery, hence their suitability for our cars, and no need to connect the vent tubes from the original battery.

Hmm, well mine hasn't fixed the problem...

I went to pick up the Odyssey yesterday, only to be told by the shop that they hadn't heard of me and wouldn't honour the $240 price... Then tried to charge me $375. Ended up getting a Pulse from them.

Got it home, confiirmed it was charged, fitted it into the car, and it's still doing the same thing as the old one - starter motor just clicks once when I try to start the car.

The story started when my car was broken into a few weeks ago. They left it with the door ajar and bonnet open, so I assumed the drain from the interior lights had killed the old battery (which was on it's last legs anyway).

But with the new battery, it's no better, so I think the thief actually tried to bypass the immobiliser and might have broken something.

Very weird - I can't see any wires tugged out. Have tried with a known good battery, and it still does the same thing.

Seems like a weird coincidence for the starter to fail at the same time...

Sounds like an immobiliser to me, scary there's an mx5 thief on the loose in W.A. !

Have you looked under the dash to see if they've tried to bypass any wiring?

Checked all your fuses?

Yeah, I'll be under the dash this afternoon. I've only got a fairly basic immobiliser, but it sounds like it's paid for itself many times over...

Seems weird that the car drives fine (once I push started it), and the starter motor actually 'clicks' when I try it - I would have thought that if the immobiliser was triggered, the starter motor/relay wouldn't get any current at all. We'll see.
