Ok well the seat is in and today I took some photo's
I'll take some of the rails when I take out the seat later on and get some pics comparing hight as well later on, but for now here are some fitment pictures.
As some may know I used the Stock rails so I can still slide it forwards and backwards as seen here

back
Image
forwards
Image

Fitment is great, only slightly touching the hardtop latches when all the way back
Image

doesn't touch doors
on top
Image
or down low
Image

If placed all the way forwards it will touch the transmission tunnel but otherwise it has more clearance than the stock seat (this is with seat halfway)
Image

Seatbelt seems ok at the top of the sholders but the bolstering holds it very far out on the lap section
Image
but harnesses are better 8) (lower straps going in next week)
Image

I was worried about getting too much attention to the car with these seats but they look soo good

so I have them covered up (when on the street without harnesses)

thanks for posting those pics SM, looks good!

How tall are you? I'm considering getting a race seat as well, but want it to fit with hardtop latches, and it would definately have to be lower....

Have you tried mine Gerrard? You sit lower than the stock seat.

I'll have to check how tall I am, :P haven't measured in a few years now

I'll get some pics of me in the stock seat then in the sprint to compare when I get my rails next week

How do you find the fixed back? Uncomfortable?
Did you have to modify the rails?

they seen alright so far but only had them in for 2 days :P

yep the rails had to be modified, both rails need to have a hole drilled to line up with the bottom mounts, then the rail on the transmission tunnel side needed some grinding done and one of the bolts did as well

Do the NB seatbelt latches bolt into the side of this seat like they do on the stock ones?

If not, are you concerned about safety? Or insurance claim refusal?

I don't know what you mean here, the seatbelt buckle mounts onto the seat rails just like stock. If you are asking if the rails are also side mounted to the seat as well as bottom mounted (on the NB there are side mounts on the buckle side) then no the rails are not side mounted as well

I'm am worried about safety and about insurance claim refusal. But only as much as I would be without having this seat installed.
Don't forget I plan on only using this seat spairingly since I like to avoid attention when in my car (big sparco logo's don't help) and it is harder to enter/exit than the stock seat. So most of the time while driving with this seat I will be using the harness or a combination of the harness with seatbelt over the top (since even if the belt holds there is a gap between me and the lap section of the belt, see pictures).
As for insurance the seat is ADR aproved and since it is on the stock rails the combination could be engineered (although I haven't but I might look into it) I have not put the seat on my insurance since it won't be in the car most of the time. If I do have an accident with this seat in the car I will explain to my insurance company how the seat was bought to be used offroad only (maybe using some of these threads as evidence) and just hope that they accept my claim, if not then I will have to accept that I will be liable for some damages (assuming that I am at fault, if I'm not then the worst my insurance company could do would be reject my claim in which case I would have to represent myself in any negotiations with the other party involved) and if it is a large crash the police will have to be notified in which case they can determine who was at fault (if a car has to be towed from the scene then police must be notified).

I got some stock rails now so I'll get some pictures comparing the stock rails to the modified ones soon

Oh fair enough sorry if i didnt explain well.

I am installing bucket seats too, Im concerned that if someone else hits me, that my personal health may not be covered by their insurance because of the seat.

I dont want $$$$$ hospital bills.

Insurance company can do whatever they want to void your claim. Best to have a chat with them.

My friend 1994 civic got into a prang recently, and the insurance comp refused his claim because he had 17\" on (standard was 14\").

Looks good. Re the lap belt, is it not possible to feed the seatbelt through the side cutouts?
