Mark's NB8A

Postby emexv » Sat Sep 25, 2010 10:32 am

After nearly two years since selling my NA6 I decided I really missed driving an MX5 and missed being part of the Victorian club and the events they run. A few months ago a nice NB came up for sale in Sydney. After some negotiation and looking at some photos I decided to book a flight to Sydney and the result is below.

The NB was a very clean unit with a very nice stereo system installed. I have heard people say you can;t get good sound out of an MX5. If you believe this have a listen to this one.....it's amazing.

A new soft top, and the seats had recently been retrimmed in black leather with green stitching,,,,,,,very nice.

Once in the shed it was time for the mods to begin, however restricted as I want to remain in Clubman in the Vic motorsport regs.

Mods to date:
Yellowspeed coilovers from Mania.
EBC Yellowstuff brake pads all around.
I was wanting some 6UL's but couldn't wait so imported some wheels form the US of A. Kosei 15x7 less than 6kgs each.
Toyo Proxes R1R's
BD Roll bar
and a wheel alignment (made a big difference to the car)

I am really happy with the finished product. Interested in your comments.

Love the colour, BRG/emerald green is my favourite colour on MGs/MX5s.

I'd love to see a set of bronze 6ULs on it.

Nice!

Is that the tracking height? Or will you be raising it when doing trackdays?

Believe it or not the last photo is a bit lower than the others. After the GOR run I raised it about 7mm due to scrubbing on the front.

Was going to ask what your secret was if you didn't scrub.
