It has..

Brand new Garrett GT2560r (the Nissan S15/Mazda MX5 SP turbo)
Tubular low mount manifold to suit all factory accessories, steampipe
Inconel studs and locknuts
Divorced gases downpipe
Brand new turbosmart Kompact valve
Full width front mount, SS piping, all SS clamps and aeroflow hoses
Brand new RX8 450cc injectors
Haltech ProSport 1000 ecu and lots of tuning to get it completely factory in driveability. I mean totally perfect, indistinguishable from OEM even from a dead cold start
Full catback exhaust with all of the extras

Its probably around 6500-7000 with the haltech taking up almost 1800 of it untuned. Its a great ecu but Im not sure Id recommend it when other options are half the price. This can be optioned up or down (go to a 3" exhaust for a little more, or remove the inconel studs and run a used turbo and save $600-1000 etc) and could as is run 300+rwhp with a set of eagle conrods and had we chosen similarly priced but larger injectors. Its only on 12psi right now and the turbo and fabricated parts can support 20PSI easily so it has a LOT more performance in it if the owner gets bored.

The car is an NB8c not an SE, and it has an SE clutch, but an SE already has an SE clutch so in your case the above price is fair.

In this cars case it gets used a lot, the owner is a professional motoring journalist who calls it a really really cheap Porsche Cayman GTS, but reliable. He can't get enough.

Chatted with the owner of this car at the Club track day yesterday.
I had the same model, the Cerrion Silver Classic, before the NC.

It certainly looked great workmanship under the bonnet and ran well except for some overheating. He removed the number plate to help cooling.

He may need to look at an oil cooler located in the rear near the diff as there is already the intercooler, radiator and AC up front.

He tells me cooling was fine with the number plate not in the grill.

So removing that fixed it, all in all pretty good result for the first time the car had ever been near a track. It really needs semi slicks and an lsd, it still has an open diff. How did he go in terms of lap times? Can I look them up anywhere?

I think we will do a cooler like Pats Casper has, and like Bryan's car Apu has.

Not a great shot but you get the idea. Id really like to put some rods in and ID1000 injectors and E85 and see what it would make, it makes an easy 235whp on 12psi, so it has heaps and heaps left in it. And like most of what I build, nice driveability and plenty of torque was specified, it hauls from 2000rpm and has ECU controlled boost via the throttle position sensor so its really lovely to drive.

My girlfriend drove it and she just giggled non stop. :)

But surely as you have already done the tuning for this setup, can you not use the existing 'maps' to replicate the tuning without having to pay for it again? Part of the reason I won't go turbo now is the very expensive buggerizing with engine management that has to be done.

PS I am no mechanic but would have specified an oil cooler from the beginning and moved that stupid number plate.

Yeah you could reuse it but it wont be perfect, no two cars are the same.

This is issue with flash tunes in general. They typically only make minor changes or else you will have a car that isnt perfect.

I imagine that the ecu and tune on this setup could be done for 2000 or so because we have a map that will be fairly close as you said.

I like that manifold ,am I right in assuming it still has a functional aircon?and where did the washer bottle end up?

As for the accessories.. Yeah. You could give the keys to the guy at the mazda dealership and he wouldnt even know it wasnt stock until he squeezed the throttle.
