Hi everyone.
I just bought a 1990 Eunos Roadster and I drove a MX-5 for my first time and I think it's a perfect base to do my motorbike engine conversion. (MIATABUSA, 1.300 GSXR SUZUKI) Plus wide bodykit
Some of you may know me as per my last Renault Clio Williams IV project:
http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthre ... (Australia)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jPpnFCUUttE
I need a MX5 any year from 89-> written off, NA or NB.
with most of the parts. (Basically a complete car without engine and gearbox)
I NEED: not damaged chassis, windscreen, side windows, doors, arms, differential, dashboard, cockpit, instruments, steering column and rack, original keys, subframes, front hood, rear boot, front guards, fuel tank, tail light.
I DONT NEED: Engine, Gearbox, Electrical wires, loom, seats, wheels, brakes, headlights ...
I live and own a pizzeria in Dee Why beach.
Please contact me if you have something similar to sell....
I pay cash and collect with trailer immediately.
Cheers.

How much torque does the 1300 make? You might have to cut a hole in the floor.
Greg.

as a former Busa owner, I can tell you these things are the stump pullers. I could take off in 6th, from stand still, with a wee bit of clutch work.
Stock torque is around 135 Nm @ 6750–7000 rpm but once you do the typical mods (PAIR valve, air box flapper, exhaust, TRE, remap) then they really REALLY motor.
With these mods, 200 rwhp is easily achievable.
For comparison, the NA 1.6 stock torque is around 136 Nm @ 5500

Hi Mick,
My BMW is making 125/130 Nm and 100 rwhp, it will paw the air in 5th, but with 900kgs I think that it might be a big call. I will watch with interest. I wonder if the OP is Exocet aware?
Greg.
P.S. They are German horses and not Japanese ponies!

Mick,
It's not like you to be stuck for words.

Curious and Hope you Succeed.
very few NA's that are street legal creep under 950 kg
Is this intended for street use or Just a Track Toy ?
I have been taken for a lap in a 1300 cc Radical and when < 600 kg they go good
but they have this http://shop.quaife.co.uk/quaife-cd-axle-unit-for-chain-driven-cars
sort of purpose built transaxle setup.
As someone who routinely spends too much on things hope you have done the math right.
Brand New Radical Hayabusa based engines last 30 hours at maximum and if your
car is heavier and has to send the power through MX5 box that will probably
reduce significantly.

i have dríven a radical sr3.
i can assure you it is not very fast in a straight line at all. one of dann's 250whp turbo jobbies would monster it in a straight line, at least over 100kph it would.
but maybe thats not the point. just sayin.
good luck, sounds like a nice project.
