Today being the only day this month that had some time to mess around with the SE, I jumped into a couple of projects that I was confident that I could knock over quickly.
First off I got some new tyres fitted, nothing ground breaking - KU 36 in 205/50/15 on some old rims that I picked up (more on that later). First thing I really noticed is how much tougher the car now looks. I guess I always had the feeling the that standard rims and tyres looked a bit effeminate and after changing them out that feeling was really confirmed.
Second was replacing the shift turret bushing with one from Miata Roadster. This was relatively simple process and produced a very good result. No more sticky shifter. It is amazing to me that the wearing of such a small part can make your car feel like sh1t to drive.
Third was replacing the two rubber shift boots (both inner and outer). The outer went on very easily but the inner was a bit more complicated. End result is satisfactory and definitely much quieter.

Back to work tomorrow :frown: but when I get back I will have 3 or 4 days to work on the next steps of the process.

Fitting coilovers
Fitting Boost gauge
Installing and setting up Megasquirt

I will be pretty happy if I get all that done 8)

Look forward to seeing some photos, are you going to do injectors with the megasquirt?
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

No pics yet. Dont want any photographic evidence of my "high rise" car on 15s circulating the web  . Once the ride height is set up properly there will be HEAPS of pics!
As for the injectors... I have a set but because I am very unhappy with the way that my car is running at present, I plan to introduce no more mods (variables) until I have everything ironed out. Besides I would like to do a couple of events at current power output (when well tuned) and then look to increase it once I am happy with the chassis set up. Once I get to the point where I am being held back by the lack of power, I will do the injectors and exhaust.

Any progress on this? Surely there must be a bit of hair on the chest by now!

I'm curious about how the coilovers went in particular.
