I love your tone just after the 360 spin, so damn happy with the result!

The second video was great, I think your an excellent driver and you should attend a club track day to set some class records :D

+1

Love those vids!
Your drive after the spin was inspirational, you could see (from pit road) that you were trying harder than pre spin, yet the car looked just as balanced and controlled, great recovery!
So lets go!

Thanks Hayden!

Ive been saying for the last 3 years I'll go to an MX5 club day...and join the club....perhaps now I should actually take action!!!
and yes, I was so chuffed from that 360! I pulled that out of nowhere, and as I watch the vid I ask myself WTF was I doing!?! it understeered the whiole corner yet I tried to fight it!

Cheers Scott, I was pissed off at myself for doing it and I just had to HTFU and go hard!

Unfortunately I dont think I'll be at another MX5 challenge/MRA meet this year as round 4 I have a mates wedding the night before. So will try and do a supersprint or two and save for an ECU.

day warms up, track dries out I go slower.
WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

killed my brake pads, havent seen the damage to rotors yet, but brakes are fubard. also lost my magnetic numbers (were taped on too!) at wakie somewhere.

felt down on speed down the straight.

yeah...quite silly of me!!!!!!

so today ordered new pads and rotors.
just realised its been over 2 years Ive had my current rotors, so what better excuse to replace.

just to get it all done before FoSC in September, sounds easy but finding time between work and family these days is a hard task!

So did Festival of Sporting cars yesterday on the new SMP South circuit.

what a track!
so fun, really suited to our cars. I managed a best of 1.06.1 in race 2. having no real guide as to what to aim for and reading the other thread in NSW motorsport I thoiught a 1.05-1.06 would be a good start. wasnt far off!
plenty more in it as with any new track the more seat time the faster you go.

the brakes had held up fantastic from when I changed them recently although there are really 2 heavy braking spots.

we had rolling starts which was a first for me, I got a good jump on most most times and the 3rd race I was on the tail of the V8 falcon on slicks and tried late braking to keep up, sadly coldish tyres and a big lock up put me off the track however I was lucky to get back on in a tight part of the track where the people behind couldnt pass!!

so out of 19 I qualified 7th with a 1.07.6 and was quicker than cars that were quicker than me at Wakefield.

race one started 7th and finished 7th and got to 1.06.6

race 2 on the video below - started 7th finished 7th and 1.06.1

race 3 started 7th finsihed 6th

great atmostsphere at the track, everyone seemed friendly out there and was one of the better days I have been to.

Thanks to Chris G, Matilda, Nick for the hospitally up at the van with my family!

I would love to get to the 4's with more seat time so that will be my goal.
I also need to focus on the off camber sweeping left hander before the first hairpin. that corner sucks!

anyhoo,
fun track - MX5's will certainly 'punch above their weight' here and I cannot wait to head back.

If I see any photos from the event I'll post up

cheers,
Chris

havent updated for a while...!

coming upto 4 years ownership this week, been a great 4 years.

I bought a second hand Adaptronic off Lou late last year, got it fitted and tuned.
base run was 76rwkw and after 82rwkw. doesnt sound much but mid range picked up about 8rwkw and will set me up for future mods.

also managed a PB of 1.12.7 @ Wakie during first round MRA and 3rd in class 2F.
Now I just need cams and retune and more skills.

sold my Commodore which was my tow car and now have a new tow rig/family wagon:

Just above the speed sign through the window :D

The car looks fantastic, well done. What sort of paint did you use on the tyres?
