Looks good.
How do you like the X-force muffler?
Just fitted one to my car and it is a nice improvement to the exhaust.
Could only wish the tip is a tad smaller.

Thanks

I love the xforce muffler. Its just audible at idle and when cruising but under power it provides a nice throaty roar haha I love it was exactly what I was looking for.

Re: Silver NB8B
Time for an update.
After I got the new clutch and flywheel done, I had a very odd and loud rattle from the clutch/flywheel on take off or under some load, plus the damn oil leak was still there. So back up to Automotive Plus to get that looked at, I was told the rattle was nothing out of the ordinary just some vibration from the power plant frame, I was told you will always get this once the gearbox has been removed. I was a little wary but it seems to have quieten down now, still happens every so often but can only just hear it.
I spent 8 hours at the workshop this day, as they found the oil leak was coming from the front gearbox seal, yep the one that rarely ever ever leaks haha, so the box came off again, replaced the seal put everything back together and finally I got to go home. During that week I found it it was STILL leaking, it was only minor just a pain in the arse since I wanted it fixed. Turns out it was/still is the oil filter relocation kit. A nut or washer came loose where it attaches to the block, apparently because the lines are so long it pulls on it slightly or something like that, they tightened everything up, but I still have that pesky leak lol atleast I know where its coming from and why and its not bad.
Since then I havent done too much, just drivng and enjoying the car.
About a month ago I ordered some Enkei RPF1's in 16x7 +43, they turned up Friday last week. I had them fitted today with new Bridgestone RE002 tyres. They look fantastic and the difference you feel through the steering is huge. Feels so light now compared to the stock 16's. Now Im just waiting for the center caps to turn up.
Next Sunday Im back at QR for the second round of the street sprints.
Then next is a service and a roll bar from Automotive Plus.

Yea, I just have the one set of wheels/tires atm. Well 2 sets I guess now if you include the old wheels.
I had the RE002 tires on my stock wheels, they go alright on the track considering they are only a high performance tire not a track tire. I got about 16 000 km and 4 track days out of my old set. Probably would still get another 2 track days out of them.

Yeah, I used them on my Clio at the QR sprints for a whole year and they're quite alright. They squeal and complain, but they keep holding on and they let go fairly sedately.
I share the car with my old man so we effectively double the track time; we got a whole "season" out of a set and 17500 kilometres on the road.
I'll come and say hello on sunday.

Mine dont really squeal too much but the mx5 is alot lower then a clio. But yea they are good on the track for what they are.

Good luck on Sunday, it is a bit far for me to travel and if the other half found out I drove to QR for sprints and didn't come home I could be in trouble

Re: Silver NB8B
Had a great day out at QR again for the street sprints. Car ran consistent and faultless all day, a change (lower) in tyre pressures for the fourth session helped me to achieve a new PB
I dropped a full second to get a PB of 1:07.32 which Im stoked with. I was also pushing a little harder through turn 1 and 2 in the 4th session and using a little more of the available road. Really really happy, now to stay consistent with 1:07's and try for a 1:06. Really good day, lots of fun. Had a big full lock drift through turn 5 into the crossover in session 3
was good fun.
So new setup which Ill use next time is: Coilovers - 18 front and 16 rear
Tyres - 35 psi hot
New wheels and tyres probably helped alot today, learned some more about the setup today so Ill use that new info next time and hope to better my times again. New wheel alignment felt better, running about 2 degrees negative camber front and rear, 1mm of toe in in the rear and 1mm of toe out in the front. Turned in much better. Cant wait for the next one

Went out for a nice drive this morning through the cane fields with the roof down for the first time in a very long time. Had an absolute blast, couldnt wipe the smile off my face for the entire journey

Re: Silver NB8B
After a long wait I finally got my sparco and roll bar fitted today. Very pleased with it, looks fantastic and the seat is worlds apart from the stocko. Now the only thing really left to do is the sway bars eventually. Probably think of more things I want to do but thats it for now.
Now for some pics, only some dodgy phone pics for now that I quickly snapped this arvo when I got home.

Re: Silver NB8B
Well today marks exactly one year with my little mx5. It has changed quit a bit since the day I picked it up, and its offered many fun filled and exciting driving experiences and many many smiles. So heres to many more fun driving times and years together
On a side note, I think I will need to raise the car up by a few mm. Since fitting the sparco I can now sit further forward then I could with the stock seat. When Im in the car I must push down on a different part of the car as every time I go up my driveway now one of the rear factory underbody braces scrape. Its not possible to go any slower or go on any more of an angle then I do now haha.

Keep scraping away, the driveway should wear away first
