There are very mixed reviews about silicon - difficulty sealing, collapsing under suction, etc - but it looks prettier. Rubber generally works better, especially the kevlar reinforced sets. We all used to buy them from an independent supplier in the UK, trouble is that they last so long that he couldn't get any repeat business and disappeared - worth a search though.

You should start looking on mx5arts.co.uk for your general parts. They're genuine Japanese Mazda (as opposed to the rough Vietnamese and Thai copies that Mazda Australia sell here as genuine) and cheap with pretty quick delivery.

edit: looks like the kevlar ones are still being made in the UK and mx5parts are now selling them. http://www.mx5parts.co.uk/advanced_sear ... ar&x=8&y=9

Thanks for the heads up. I have always used the rubber hoses. Don't think I will be changing.
I have to buy some other bits soon so I will give the uk site a go. Thanks again.

Most sets contain the main radiator hoses and heater hoses but remember that there are also 4 little ones:
- bypass front water pump to thermostat housing at the front of the block
- thermostat housing to throttle body
- throttle body to oil cooler on the oil filter mount under the inlet manifold
- oil cooler to rear of head

These are mostly in nasty spots to get at and they're always the ones that fail the first time you push a 12 year old car hard far from home on a mountain road.

This should help too. Full NB8B workshop manual and parts catalogs Just scroll down to find the latest working link.

Well, picked up new crank angle sensor from MX5 Plus today along with shifter boots.
Installed new radiator, crank angle sensor, gear box boot and new console.
Took it for a spin, found out how cheap, cheap tyres are.
So new tyres coming up now. Will have to read some tyre reviews on here.
Wheel alignment and tyre balance tomorrow hopefully.
So there may be some really cheap tyres on here soon.

Well I have picked up two sets of wheels and fitted two to each side to see how they look.

Watch out for comments about wheel upgrades.
UK since return: Standard NC2 (horrid), C200K, ND2 BBR, NC2 BBR200 (loved it), NC BBR300 (better than BARMY), V-Special, turbo NB8B (my 84th car)
