Re: MX5 Version 2.5, Another SE thread
As discussed on friendface, looks like it will work.
Holes on the pass side are
1) Boost valve
2) BOV
3) Temp sensor (screws out of large round bit on stock elbow)

If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

I had to put the large fitting in a vice and use a spanner to remove the temp sensor.
That version looks much neater having everything on the right hand side.

Re: MX5 Version 2.5, Another SE thread
So with the recent rain here found that the rear parcel shelf was getting wet. Decided t clean out the drains at they were very blocked. After cleaning them and while the carpet was till folded back I parked the car in the rain to see how the 'drainage system' worked. I noticed that there was water coming in three lines about about 4 or so inches back from the drain (see photo below). This was the same on both sides. Is this normal?

Rain rail could have a crack, if the drains are now fully unblocked see if you can tighten that nut a bit more and see if it seals better?

Re: MX5 Version 2.5, Another SE thread
Been a hectic few days. So have fitted the BEGI intake elbow over the weekend. The car got a wheel alignment earlier this week as well. Drives much nicer, not surprisingly considering the angles on each of the wheels.
This weekends plan is to change the brake, diff and gearbox fluid.
All going well (am we wake up in time) we head off to the club cruise on Sunday.
Still trying to find an intake and exhaust for it.

Re: MX5 Version 2.5, Another SE thread
Reasonably productive day with the SE today. managed to get an exhaust (muffler only), Varex, thanks Okibi. While I was under the back of it I changed the diff oil as well. Just as I'd finished that the Mrs came out with a coffee so I roped her in to helping bleed the brakes and clutch.
Was hoping to the get the gearbox done today as well but there seemed some undertrays that needed to come out and the V8s were calling by that time so I called it quits.
While I was out though I did use the Meguirs PlastX I bought on Friday on the hazed headlights. Never having used it before I was a bit skeptical but I can recommend it as it did exactly what it said on the box.
Was hoping to change the plugs this weekend but no one seems to stock the plugs in stock, so I ended up ordering some on Amazon.

Glad the muffler went well, happy with the sound?

Exhaust went on OK, did take a while to get the rubber hangers off though. After reading about Varex I was expecting them to be really loud but we have it set on the loudest and it no where as loud as I was expecting so we have set to the loudest and think we may just leave it there.

Re: MX5 Version 2.5, Another SE thread
The rubber hangers were initially an issue when james_p93 and I fitted his FM exhaust until we figured out "the easy way" to do it.
The trick was to slide a small screwdriver through, between the rubber and hanger, and squirt in some silicon spray - they slipped off easily them.
Little "trade tricks" like this can really save you a lot of time and grief.

Yup exhaust hangers can be a PITA.

I've spent a lot of time buffing polycarbonate headlights with plastic polish and have discovered it's usually only a temp fix. When preparing our WA cars for QLD rego, I discovered a product that replaces the coating on the lense. It comes in a kit with several grades of sandpaper, a primer/cleaner and a top coat. The previously yellow headlights on the landcruiser now look brand new. Expect to pay 25 to 35 for a kit.

Re: MX5 Version 2.5, Another SE thread
So looks like I'll be doing a rain rail repair this weekend to see if I can locate the source of the water coming in. While I'm 'in the area' I'll fit the Roll bar as well. Just need to see if I can get the wind blocker back in afterwards.
I've done a deal for another set of rims. All going well should get them later this week.
What options are there for springs for the SE. Everything I can find state that they can not be used with Bilsteins. Any suggestions?

Loads, they're just all much more expensive.
Are your drain holes (sorta behind the seatbelt towers) clear?
