I'VE GOT SOMETHING TO PUT IN YOU!!!!

Image

:P

yeah, filter and housing is pretty much done, just need to oil the filter up and it's ready to go.

I hacked up the old filter in order to use it's black plastic base as a retainer for the new filter instead of the new filter's chrome base ring (which is still under the black plastic)

so yeah, no chrome at all except for the hose clamp and screws, but I intend to cut the screws down so they sit flush with the nut, and give the nut and screw heads a quick go over with black paint, probably use engine enamel and then backe them in the oven or something?

unless I can track down some black metal dye, which would be awesome because then I can also dye the hose clamps!

ok, finally bolted the rollbar down 100%, so now I can go do flips and sh*t.

just need to paint the bolt heads black now so they dont stand out so much.

Intake is ready to go in, all I need is a 70mm rubber joiner, which depending on an answer from an ebay seller might not be far off.

then all I need to do before next deca day is:

get a service (it's quite overdue)
make a camera mount (prob just cable tie the monopod onto the rollbar)
buy/borrow a pair of wheels to put road tyres on for the day (so I can drive home on treaded tyres)

edit:
oh, also need to give the car a vaccuum to remove the masses of metal shavings and torn up carpet fibres.
so yeah, not much else happening for a while, all future mod plans are expensive ones, so they'll need to wait for a while.

So, I got my package today.......

I bought Philz RS*R exhaust off him.

OH MY GOD..... I think I jizzed everywhere when I revved it the frist time.

it's loud, but doesnt bore into my head, so I think it's legal.

when I try it without the silencer though........ well.... we'll find out.

ok, as above, I think it's legal enough with the silencer in, as log as I dont go and rev it over 3000rpm past any cops I should be fine.

however, I also tried it the other day unsilenced........ no way it's legal without the silencer!

it sounds awesome, but even at idle it's very boomy, very loud, when it's revved out it just screams like mad, it's a really awesome sound the seems to have a brilliant sweet spot around 4-5000rpm. But yeah, unsilenced you cant even speak to the passenger on the highway without raising your voice.

so yeah, I'm really, really happy with it!

loving the roll bar sticker dude. I really want to hear one of these RSR exhausts for real one day - everyone loves them.

it actually has about the same ground clearance as the factory mufler.

the Photo was taken at a low angle.

I'm 11cm off the ground from the pinch welds, and did not scrap with this exhaust at any point, it just looks like it.
