Nice work, next up polish those headlights! How much did the LSD install cost you?

Polish the headlights again... :)

LSD install was a little more than I hoped at $840 but I did get new bearings and seals. A little more planning could have saved a few $ as the bearings alone were $300. Plus I had some bolts shear on the pinion so new bolts (all Mazda specific) and a bit more time to solve the problem. A second hand torsen would have been a cheaper route but I am happy to have an effectively new LSD.

Oooh, Shiny!

You've got to admit the Black looks great for the first 5 minutes after you clean it......

Picked up some Bowden's Wheely Cleaner at the Supercheap 20% discount Saturday.
It seems to do a really good job on the wheels. Cleaned inside and out.

Yeah, it's cool the way it changes colour (reminds me of a more expensive brand) but I wasn't blown away by the performance, been impressed with other Bowden's stuff.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Just had a 12 day trip to the USA and managed to schedule a day in LA so paid a visit to Project G.
It was great to see their set up and talk to them.
Picked up a set of vented Qtr windows.

Cool. Did you pop down to the other end of the building and visit Roman and Dave at Blackbox Motorsports?

Damn... I did not know about them!

It was a Saturday and not many of the units were open.
Project G are open on the weekends as they have an indoor 1/10 Electric Drift track.

Fitted the Project G, G-vent toady. First one took a little longer than the second. All up a bout 3 hours but with new knowledge I could do a pair in 90 minutes.
They deliver a nice breeze with the top up so hope to cool the cabin a little more on the hotter days.

I'm guessing the ball joints at each end of the struts are nice and tight without 4-5mm play? Only one of mine was right. Suspect this is why my bonnet sits up a few mm on that side. Will email supplier today :)

Now to comment on your car - very nice with many sensible mods and some creative fab work.

I'm guessing you'd be pretty handy at a dodgy day and have done a bit of what I want to do :)

Yes, ball joints are firm. Virtually no play at all.

Last car, Nissan Stagea M35, taught me many skills as no mechanic's in Australia had any idea about the car and how to fix it. So had to learn. Even learnt how to install shift kits in Auto gear box which was a little scary on the first one but then did many more. The MX5 is so spacious to work on compared to the the Stagea even though the car was twice the size of the MX5.

Fitted the MCA Blues today with a combination of 10/6kg springs as my car is a weekend car with occasional track duties.
Car sat at 330mm front and back from wheel center to wheel arch straight off the hoist. It is meant to settle to 320mm so after a few drives I can confirm this.
The stiffer sprigs do not seem to be an issue based on the 15 minute drive down Victoria road to home so hopefully they will be stiff enough on the track. I will post some pictures of the car before and after tonight.
It took 2 hours to change them over.

Wow, 2 hours to change shocks/springs. It takes me 2 hours to just clean the car!
