Even the button is genuine Honda start button?

What I meant by my Start button comment was that while the Start button seems cool inititially, after a week or so, you get used to it and it just becomes an extra step in the engine-start routine you have to go through.

ie. The "cool factor" of the Start button will only impress you for a week or so; after that period, many guys have commented that it wasn't worth the hassle to install it.

I should re state that. They have to been shown to have the same structural integrity as they are an intrusion panel. (Doors)

Many door bars are removable so you could find ones that are and fit them at the track.

Toyota land cruisers have a start button... It's really not that interesting just a gimmick.

I know what you guys are trying to say now, but I have found another way to install the start button :D

But for now, it is secret...

If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Genuine Honda novelty is more resistant to wear than regular novelty, but your car has a start button built into the ignition barrel that works flawlessly. What would you gain?

Jebus guys, the chap wants to personalise his car, possibly learn a new skill in wiring it in and above all else have a bit of fun with it.

As for the legality of the future plans I would suggest going and talking to someone like Southam Automotive Engineering and seeking their advice.

He would gain "I did it my way" points :)

Plus it can be undone if the need ever arrives and it makes his car more personal. Make a post and document your efforts I say...

^^^^^^ well said.

I like reading about what mods Tesco has, or is, doing to his car.
I may have a different opinion about some of them but I admire the fact that he is attempting them, and learning along the way.

Note that I never said "Don't do the Start button Mod", I merely pointed out that its "wow factor" has been reported by many as being very short-lived and not considered worth the effort.

If you've got other modz you're thinking about doing, the time and $$$ are probably better spent on those instead.

However if you play with a toy too much it could break or you could go blind!
