Yes, leave it for a while. Let it age, gather some scrapes, then respray it. Or, lose interest in painting it again and bank all that saved time and effort.

I spent today cutting & polishing. Then finished off with a mod-plate for my rollbar. My horn is not working though & I can’t work out why.

Here’s some pics from during the cut & polish.

looks to me like a very good paint job indeed and actually looks better than some of mine. there you go when you paint white you are not necessarily too bright  .......almost feel like i'd like to paint a car again
now as to your horn problem it could be lots of things......age related, health issues or just a bad earth. others may chime in

You need do your version of this scene from Working Class Man (aka. Gung Ho) from the 0:33..1:26 period:

Can’t get the link to work, but I’m sure it’s quite humorous.

As for the old age or health issues Billy, IT, was working fine this morning. As for the car horn, it must be a victim of my being ‘electrically challenged’.

Haha. I’ll be keeping an eye on the Windscreens O’Briens guy this morning. I don’t want him installing any of that “safety glass”.

I went for my first real drive today, over to Rolley’s place to pick up a rear view mirror. It drove very well the whole way so I’m happy.
Speaking of mirrors, it turns out my recently acquired M2 style 1028 mirrors are too small for my liking, & they flop around like an untrained seal. Which is a pity because they look so good. So I’m in the process of refurbishing my stock mirrors.

That's a common complaint with the smaller mirrors and I suspect that there's actually an ADR minimum size for them, below this they're probably not functional enough.

Saw this car in the flesh today when Andrew dropped off my panel beating dildos/dollies into work.

Apart from the bonnet (near the windshield), you really have to look hard for the imperfections, at the right angle and in the right light.

The paint has a metallic fleck so most observers would attribute any slight colour variations to that.

I was impressed - it's something that I wouldn't even dream of attempting.
